Welcome to Wesgreen's International School very own Hackathon, Where Students compete with each
other to become the #1 Coder.
Are you Up for the challenge?
The Wes:Hack 24 is split into 2 categories, the Junior Category for students from years 7-9 and the Senior Category for students from years 10-12. Seniors and Juniors are both in the same prize pool, but some leniency goes to the Juniors. Juniors are allowed to program using block-based or hybrid languages, while Seniors are only allowed to use text-based languages.
We are a group of students who decided to open the best events ever, a hackathon. Hackathons are not just about coding; they provide an incredible opportunity for personal growth, skill development, and networking. Participating in a hackathon showcases your ability to work under pressure, think critically, and collaborate with others—qualities that colleges and universities highly value.
By engaging in hackathons, students can strengthen their resumes and college applications. These events demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to learning, allowing participants to showcase their skills in a competitive environment. Furthermore, hackathons foster creativity and innovation, essential traits for success in higher education and beyond. So join us, and make your mark!
Hackathons empower students to push their limits, learn new technologies, and collaborate with diverse teams. This experience not only enriches your academic portfolio but also helps you build a network of like-minded individuals and industry professionals. It’s a gateway to future opportunities!
Many colleges give preference to students who have participated in hackathons, as they demonstrate a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and a passion for technology. By participating in a hackathon, you can set yourself apart from other applicants and gain a competitive edge in the college admissions process.
Colleges give out scholarships to students who participated in hackathons, usually with other academic achievements. This is a great way to get a scholarship for your college.
*Student-Led Hackathon: A hackathon organized by students for students - in a public manner. The event is planned, managed, and executed by students, with the little support from teachers and mentors.
